- 4 slices flat panini bread
- 2 onions, thinly sliced
- 8 slices smoked ham
- 4 slices white cheddar cheese
- 1 cup arugula
- 2 tablespoon butter
- ½ teaspoon sugar
- Salt and pepper
Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a pan over medium-low heat and add the sliced onions. After 5 minutes, add the sugar, salt and pepper. Cook on a lower temperature for another 15 to 20 minutes, or until caramelized.
Turn panini grill on and preheat to 400 F.
Add 4 slices of the smoked ham, 2 slices of cheddar cheese, two tablespoons of caramelized onions, and half a cup of arugula to each panini.
Brush the outside of each bread with butter and place panini on grill. Grill for 5-7 minutes.
